Notes on Kittychat automation features

🔗 Links and message layout

🔗 In a text-type Auto DM, a link you put in the message and save works as a clickable link in the DM.
🔗 Two or more links each stay clickable, and the first link is shown as a thumbnail.
🔘 A button (template) message can hold up to 3 buttons.
🧾 A message can be up to 900 characters. Check the counter below the message box.
In a button (template) message, if a button holds only a link and no text, tapping it takes the follower straight to that link. If it holds both text and a link, the message is sent to the follower, who can then tap the link inside it.
When a button holds only a link, you can see your customers’ CTR (click-through rate).

🟢 The Auto DM switch is at the top of the ‘Auto DM & message’ page.→ Unless you have changed it, the default is On.
💬 When a customer leaves a comment tied to an Auto DM, the DM goes out immediately. You can also set a delay.
⏱ Auto comment replies come with a delay set by default, and are posted according to that setting.
🔒 Auto DMs are still delivered to a private account, as long as that person follows you.

🔑 You cannot connect with the Instagram username alone — the password is required.
🌐 Connecting requires signing in directly in a web browser.→ Even if you are already signed in on the app, you have to sign in separately.

🖼 To include a photo in an Auto DM, you have to use a button (template) message.
📐 A square image (1080x1080px) is recommended.

📩 An Auto DM goes out when someone comments a set keyword,→ and when they tap a button inside it, you can show a different message depending on whether they follow you.
✉️ This does not work with ‘text’ type DMs — it works only with button (template) DMs.

📢 Post a teaser before the group buy opens,→ and when users comment to ask for an alert, you can send them all a DM on the opening day.
⏰ This works by scheduling the DM send time.
🤖 When a follower enters an Auto DM keyword, the auto comment reply is queued straight away according to your delay setting, while the scheduled DM is sent later at its set time. If the Auto DM has its own delay, that is applied as well.

Auto DM works on Reels, posts and Stories alike.
🔗 Kittychat’s Auto DM does not need a Facebook Page connection.
🆓 The ad line after an Auto DM appears because you are on the free plan.→ It is removed when you move to a paid plan.

🐢 If auto comment replies are not being posted, check your delay setting.→ Instagram is wary of a lot of replies in a short time.
⚠️ Lowering the delay and sending in bulk causes errors,→ and your Auto DMs can be restricted as a result.
🔒 If three errors occur within 24 hours, Kittychat has a setting that switches comment replies off automatically.Where: on the Auto DM & comment replies page, open Settings → the ‘Turn off auto-comment replies upon 3 warnings’ toggle at the very bottom
We recommend leaving it off for five days afterwards.
