🛡️ Staying safe when sending Auto DMs in bulk
Kittychat’s Instagram automation runs on Instagram’s official API and is an officially approved service.
That said, sending a large number of Auto DMs in a short space of time risks running into Instagram’s spam detection and Community Guidelines. Apply the settings below to keep your account safe and raise your delivery success rate.
1. ⏱️ Setting a send delay
- What it does
- Sets a delay between Auto DM sends and between auto comment replies.
- For Auto DMs, you can set how many go out per hour.
- For auto comment replies, you can set how many go out per hour, and the range of delay between them.
- Why it is safer
- Auto comment replies are more likely to be classed as spam than DMs are, so a delay is applied by default.
2. 🧠 AI wording variation for Auto DMs (Starter plan and above)
- What it does
- AI alters the wording slightly for each send, so the same message does not go out to everyone.
- Key point
- Your link and the core message stay intact — only emoji and a few word choices are varied, naturally.
- Why it is safer
- It stops the identical text going out repeatedly, which sharply lowers the risk of being picked up by spam algorithms.
3. 👤 Automatic follower name insertion (Pro plan and above)
- What it does
- Enter the [username] placeholder while writing a button (template) message, and the recipient’s name or username is filled in at that spot automatically.
- Why it is safer
- Every DM becomes a personalised message, which minimises the chance of it being judged as spam.
4. 💬 Building variety into auto comment replies
Instagram comment replies are especially sensitive to spam detection, so it is best to register as many different phrasings as you can and rotate through them.
General auto comment replies (shared by all posts)
- Where to set it
- Auto DM & message menu > General auto comment replies button
- How to use it
- One of your registered replies is chosen at random and posted. For the safety of your account, register as many phrasings as you can.
- Use the defaults
- We recommend using the sample templates that come with the service (‘Default’). The default phrasings are generated automatically from the system language set under Account settings > Language & Timezone.
Per-post auto comment replies (for one specific post)
- Where to set it
- The individual Auto DM setup screen
- How to use it
- AI wording variation can be applied to per-post replies too, so every reply is posted with different wording.
